In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Valencia CF opened the doors of the Camp de Mestalla to the NGO Banco de Acción Solidaria so that it could carry out its work distributing batches of food provided by the Banco de Alimentos de Valencia.
The main objective is to provide primary food assistance to groups at risk of social exclusion and personalised assistance to families in precarious situations.
Since signing the agreement in May 2020, the Camp de Mestalla has become one of the main food donation points in Valencia where a total of 2,279,735 kgs of staple food has been distributed to 92,140 beneficiaries in monthly distributions belonging to 33,337 families.
Moreover, 7,522 solidarity bags with a total of 112,830 kgs of food have been supplied to families in precarious situations who are regularising their documentation to access the distributions.
Besides the monthly deliveries, two weekly deliveries on alternate weeks, different deliveries have been organised in the Camp de Mestalla on special dates such as Christmas or summer. In addition, a distribution was also carried out to assist Ukrainian refugees who were forced to flee their homes after the outbreak of war.
